“I would never work for you. You can’t manage me you’re too young.”

This was said to me by a slightly older man several years ago. At a wake, bizarrely. And I promise you I didn’t deserve it (this time).

“Sure but some older people haven’t learnt much from their experience, some younger people squeeze a lot of learning a lot from every life event.” OK, my response probably wasn’t that eloquent, but that’s how I choose to remember it.

But at a time when everyone seems to have had their view of work and life challenged in a fundamental way, and we seem on a global level to be hungry for wiser leadership, is there a way that we can consciously grow wisdom? I have spent a lot of time researching this question but more importantly constantly reinventing my personal approach to getting wiser.
